At The Gates
Journey proceeds toward Barrow Town, with no interruptions on the way
The party comes upon a beautiful vertical structure, known as Barrow Town. This makeshift city, built high along the cliff face is quite a structure.
Party walks to the gates, and is soon addressed by guards above, allowed access to lifts, and promptly arrested after their ascent
Having been arrested, they spend much time in this hut-like cell. They are visited twice, once by a noble-like man, perhaps a mayor, who does little at their request for release. Later they are visited by a hooded figure — an alleged treasure hunter of sorts. He offers them release, and says he will come back for them in a couple of hours, having heard of their interest in the tomb and the artifacts apparently buried inside.
Burris, the treasure hunter, comes back, and allows them leave, telling them to speak to the scholar for more information, but to take what she says with a grain of salt.
They are interrupted on their route, by a gang of frying pan-handlers, who they eventually rout, hopefully not to run into again
Upon speaking to the scholar, Seniya, they find of the path to the tomb, and some rumours, specifically about the insect-like creature who allegedly stings only those who are granted access to the tombs, and they make their way out of town, and on their way to the tomb, with Burris.
Trailing of the Goats
Several miles out of town, on their way to the tombs, they decide to setup camp, and set out to hunt for some much-needed food. They scour the area, finding some goat-like tracks, and decided to follow up. They come across a camp of some scary, tribal creatures with goat heads and feet, and a humanoid form. Avi decided to sneak up, and cause a distraction in order to steal their food.
They promptly leave the area before the creatures form hunting parties to find, and likely mutilate, all those responsible for this theft.
Upon their arrival to their camp, Burris has all but signaled these creatures with his smoky fire. They leave it, and head out as fast as can be, and spend the next day walking.
_The next day, they come across an old man on a wagon, being pulled by an ox-like creature. He offers them conversation, with an odd interest in death, and an offering of interesting trivia in relation to the tomb. Additionally, he asks for the opportunity to purchase any interesting artifacts found in the tomb. He says he will be staying in Barrow Town for ten days or so. The characters continue on.
Three monstrous towers ascend above a massive pit, signifying their arrival at the entrance of the tombs.
Having wasted time checking the towers, they eventually make it down the steep cone, making their way to a room full of artistic murals. Avi, with her obvious appreciation of the fine arts, is delighted by these paintings, even going so far as taking the paintings in via touch, accidentally pressing some buttons in the process; which seemingly open up a tunnel to the next area.
The Nest, The Bug, and the Headbutt
Avi puts on her magnetic boots, and proceeds to the ceiling, where this creature, this insect-like thing, awaits. She cleverly lures it, dodges out of the way, and arrives at the ground with much skill. The same grace is not achieved by this bug, falling on its back, making it an easy target. Before it is headbutted to death, Jörn takes one vicious sting, which hopefully follows legend and gives the ability to enter the tomb. Avi recalls the paintings, and that the actual tomb is further down the put (beyond where the stairs go), and far below the insect.
